Doctors wrongly told they owe tax on NHS pensions after systems error

Thousands of doctors have been wrongly told by NHS Pensions that they have exceeded their annual pensions allowance and must pay tens of thousands of pounds in tax—with one told they needed to pay £1.3m.
Around 2800 incorrect pension savings statements were sent by NHS Pensions on 28 April. Affected statements were dated between 20 and 27 April.
